I'm home and I realize how much I need to update Haneuri with new content. But, before I go into detail with Haneuri, I'll tell you about my trip! xD
So I first went to Vietnam. It's really much of a trip to visit family and not much of a vacation. It took 3 flights with a total of 24 hours up in the air. OH SO JET LAGGED! We spent about 2 weeks there. I really didn't like it there, but what made it bearable was those I spent with. I'm already missing my relatives there. ;/
Weather? Hot with no wind.
Bugs are nasty. I found out I have an allergic reaction to mosquito bites. :/ I swelled up pretty bad on my legs.
Next to Japan! Haha, two flights to get there. The direct flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Narita (Tokyo) was full so we had to go to Hong Kong to make the next flight to Japan. I spent one full day in Hong Kong because we missed our next flight due to delay and the next available one was the next day. Hong Kong is so beautiful! I love the night lights. Very awe inspiring. We went out for a couple hours with my uncle (he lives there).
Haha, it was pretty interesting spending the night at the airport too.
Gosh, Japan is something also! I'm amazed at how clean Tokyo was even though there was so many people around. 10% of Japan's population resides in Tokyo! WOW!
I think the most amusing thing was trying to communicate. My high school only offered Spanish so if I wanted to go learn Japanese, I had to take a class at the local community college... but I didn't have the time. We did buy a book but this book sucked! Barnes and Noble didn't carry a really good book for travelers, just a basic one. But we did get around by using some of the basics like, sumimasen (to grab someone's attention), arigato, and some simple questions. I think I used sumimasen the most because if you just say "excuse me," no one will respond. The only English speakers were in hotels, banks, and of course, tour companies.
OH! There are some areas, like Akihabara, with Chinese speakers. It was easier getting around there.
We spent a total of 4 days there. First day, we went to Mt. Fuji and Hakone. Such beauty! Second day, we had a tour around Tokyo. Third day, we just went shopping around Akihabara. Then checked out on the 4th day. It was more of a 5 days, 4 nights type of thing. We checked in the day before we went on the tour. LOL sorry for being confusing. 2 half days and 3 full days = 4 full days. xD
Japan is such an amazing place!
Haha, I'm awaiting to go to South Korea and Hong Kong also. I love what I saw in Asia. xD
