Question about Spanish (Mexico)
imperative to-do list?
EN:
work
play music
wash self
read
stretch
breathe
listen
have fun
ESP:
trabaja
toca música
lavase
lee
estira
respira
escucha
divertirse
How would you write this list? I'm sure there are mistakes. I'm curious how Spanish-speakers conjugate verbs in lists. I purposely avoided the use of pronouns, and didn't want to use the first-person. It's a piece of paper that tells me what to do. However, I'd like to know what the conventions are in Spanish, and how to write it so that it feels natural. Thanks so much!

@GreyDa for this you need the infinitive form of verbs, like this:
trabajar
tocar música
lavarse/asearse*
leer
estirarse*
respirar
escuchar
divertirse*
*About these words, infinitive form is still being used, but "se" reflexive pronoun it's been added as in Spanish we use it in reflexive constructions, to make clear that the person or thing that does the action also receives the action.

@betto007 Cool! Is it commonly done this way? Nobody uses imperative tense when "talking to themselves?"
Thanks for the explanations!

@GreyDa yes, to-do lists in Spanish are commonly used that way with infinitive form of verbs. Imperative mood is rarely used in first person. When we talk to ourselves, like having a conversation in our minds about what we must/should do, we still use infinitive but adding "debo/debería"(must/should) or "tengo que"(have to), like this:
Debo trabajar
Tengo que tocar música
Debería lavarme/asearme
Tengo que leer
Debo estirarme
Tengo que respirar
Debo escuchar
Tengo que divertirme
