"Iba" is like the english equivalent of saying "I was going to do this or that" or "He was going to do this or that". For example, "Iba a ir a comer con mis amigos pero decidí a comer con mi familia" which means "I was going to go eat with my friends but I decided to eat with my family"

Fue is hard to explain because there is a lot of different ways to use it😞

“Iba” is the imperfect tense of the verb “ir,” which means “to go” in English. It is used to describe an ongoing or habitual action in the past. For example:
- Yo iba a la escuela todos los días. (I used to go to school every day.)
- Iba a ir al cine pero recordé que tengo cosas que hacer (I was going to go to the cinema but I remembered that I have things to do).
- Yo iba a la escuela cuando empezó a llover. (I was going to school when it started to rain.)
- Ella iba al mercado todos los días. (She used to go to the market every day.)
“Fue” is the preterite tense of the verb “ser” or “ir.” When it is used with “ser,” it means “was” or “were” in English, and when it is used with “ir,” it means “went” in English. For example:
- Ella fue muy amable conmigo. (She was very kind to me.)
- Él fue al cine anoche. (He went to the movies last night.)
So, in summary, “iba” is used to describe an ongoing or habitual action in the past, while “fue” is used to describe a completed action in the past, either indicating something was or someone went somewhere.
