It seems natural, but I'm confused about what you mean. Some commenters evade questions, but they also try to answer them?

@paulf9765 Haha, don't take it seriously. I'm just interested in using the word "evade" and posted the sample sentence including this word to make sure I understand it well.

I was just confused about "apparently try to answer them". Do you mean they give an answer that evades the question? They seem to answer but are not really answering?

The statement seems contradictory; if they appear to try to answer questions, it means they are not evading questions (unless you mean they evade certain questions, while answering others).
Do you mean that they failed to answer the original question, by giving an unrelated answer? Or that they evade follow-up questions in the replies?
